There’s something really charming about an old chair that’s been reupholstered in a bold floral fabric. I’d just love to try something like this on a white, wire-back chair that’s been looking a little forlorn in my basement. Don’t you think Kathy’s Summer Garden collection would work wonderfully to breathe some pretty life into it?

The common thread to this show is the size – all pieces measure at 5 inches or less, with a wide variety of media and styles. Join us for the 5 Below Group Show opening on Friday, September 28th from 5-7pm 303 Horsham Road, Suite G, Horsham, PA 19044.

I think this doggie bed design by Lena Corwin is just adorable. It’s the perfect way to accessorize your pup, especially if they’re particularly un-fond of playing doggie dress-up. I just love the simplicity of this pet pillow and can really see something like this being fashioned from any of Kathy’s pet patterns. So, so cute.

Behind The Scenes!

The hunt for a perfect pair of wedding shoes is on. I love seeing brides who choose unique, unexpected footwear. I thought it would be fun to check out some creative alternatives for the traditional wedding shoe. Which is your fave?

Persimmon, plum, aspen yellow… I can’t help but notice that the colors of late summer keep popping up ( in both my garden and closet !) Slowly but surely, as the season’s flowers and fashion evolve, I find myself feeling inspired by selections from Kathy’s summer garden pattern collection. There’s something just so bold and lovely about them that reflects that special time of year when summer sunsets cast everything in deeper, richer hues.

I just love this subtle transitional season- perhaps that’s why these are also some of my favorite colors to wear!

Here is a little peek at my favorite wedding invitation inspiration. I want to create something that feels “folksy” but contemporary. Which of these is your favorite?

This colorful bunting from the Ruffled Blog would be fun to try with my fabric. Looks so happy!

While online shopping a few months back, I came across this stunning shoe and was seriously captivated. The heel, the colors, the watercolor print, it was shoe love. However the price ($85.00)… not so much. So I bookmarked it, and waited, and now its 53% off. Nice! I think these heels would fit in quite nicely around here next spring. The loose watercolor feels so similar to Kathy’s style. It’s like art for your feet!

How lovely it is… to bask in the beauty of the quiet…

to breathe in the refreshing breeze…

and to just be in the stillness of the moment.

As long as I can remember, I have wanted to have a small wedding. Just thinking about being surrounded by only my nearest and dearest gives me the warm-and- fuzzies.

Wedding planning thus far has been really fun. We picked a date, selected our wedding party, booked a photographer and florist, lined up a caterer, and I even found my dress …it’s been pretty smooth sailing. Now it’s time to tackle the most difficult part so far…the guest list. It seemed easy in theory. Only my nearest and dearest, right? Well it’s proving to be not so simple after all. We are faced with two choices. We can choose to ditch my intimate wedding dreams and invite all the people we care about, or I stick to my guns and we make some tough choices by leaving some really lovely friends and family off the list. It is no easy feat and I would be lying if I didn’t admit to some lost sleep and tears shed in this process. Although we may risk hurting some feelings… (and we will definitely miss some friends on our day), we have decided to stay true to our original plan and move forward knowing we just can’t invite everyone. I am slowly making peace with our choice and I know that at the end of the day, this whole process is about me marrying my very best friend… and that once we start our life together, the warm memories of our special day will make the lost sleep and tears go away.
