Ever since I went to grad school to study Art Education, it has been a goal of mine to help promote Joy through Art by encouraging more people to open their minds to the ways the arts can enrich their lives.
"Breaking down the museum walls" can happen in 2 ways... one, by encouraging more people to discover the delights lurking inside of a museum...and, two, by inspiring people to think more broadly about "art" to include the ways that art and design affect our everyday lives...outside of museum walls.
So, while attending the World Innovation Forum in NYC recently, you can imagine my delight when I decided to take a walk around town and happened upon this display outside of the Museum of Modern Art!

Upon leaving the museum, visitors are asked to fill out a simple form that says, "I went to MOMA and..." . The variety of response is wonderful, and by enlarging and posting the reply cards, it creates its own street art show to entertain passersby while encouraging them to visit.
